Early Access to K information
📚🖍️EARLY ACCESS TO KINDERGARTEN📚🖍️
Children who are 5 years old by August 15, 2026, are eligible to enroll in kindergarten. However, children who turn 5 between August 16 and September 30, 2026, have an opportunity to be assessed to determine readiness for early access to kindergarten.
The intent of early access is to identify highly capable children who miss the regular August 15 cutoff for kindergarten entrance.
Early access to kindergarten is a whole-grade acceleration that is designed for the exceptional child who is academically, developmentally, and socially advanced as compared to others of his or her chronological age.
We are accepting early access to kindergarten applications for the 2026-2027 school year through May 1, 2026. Additional information can be found on the cheatham county school district website!

Teachers who have excelled through the fall semester of the 2025-26 school year are in the spotlight in the Tennessean's latest education poll. We need your help by voting for our very own Ms. Renee Adler! Renee Adler is one of our Special Education Resource teachers. She helps students improve their reading and math skills. Ms. Renee has also been invaluable with her work with our Life Skills class this year. She has assisted the staff in setting up the room prior to the start of the school, created schedules for each student, written FBA plans, and co-taught the class. She has a love for special needs students that is immeasurable! She volunteered to combine her daily Special Education Resource teacher duties to provide CDC teaching help after a resignation before the school year began and she volunteered to continue teaching the CDC class until a replacement could be found. Please help us show our appreciation by voting!!!!
